Lieve Piet (2023) is a short film based on the true story of director Jarne Hagelaars’ grandmother from Veghel. A middle-aged mother and homemaker strives to keep alive the imagination of her deceased husband as she descends into deeper physical, mental, and financial challenges in the real world. This film has received several prestigious awards, including Best First Time Director and the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Benelux International Film Festival. Additionally, at the New York International Film Festival, we were honored with awards for Best Short, Best First-time Director, and Best First-time Producer.
